My husband had the J pouch surgery many years ago...since then he has had one emergency surgery for scar tissue wrapped around his intestines. He now has abdominal pain again. He just ate half of an egg sandwich and said he feels like its stuck and not digesting. However he is still able to move his bowels. I am concerned that he has a blockage again. I feel like it never ends! advice anyone?
People who have formed problematic adhesions (internal scar tissue), tend to continue to do so. It forms within the first two weeks of surgery, but can lay dormant for years, even decades before trouble starts. It is possible that this is from the surgery he had to release the adhesions before.

If he feels like it is the same scenario, it probably is. The fact that he is still moving his bowels probably means it is just a partial obstruction; a little kink that can work itself out. Generally, these pass in a few days. He can help it along by limiting his solid food and focusing on liquids until things return to normal.
