How to heal 1/4" opening in rear incision

I had my j-pouch removal and permanent ileostomy on 7/29. The front incision healed well and my rear incision healed except for a 1/4" opening. I've alternated between keeping it as dry as possible and applying Aquaphor ointment to help it heal.

It still has not closed. Any tips to get it to close quickly? I plan to go skiing and hiking through the winter and would like to have it healed.

Sean,

I had a small opening like that after my surgery because of a slipped stitch. It will heal from the inside out and eventually fill in with tissue. It takes about four months. I would not apply anything on it--just use a squirt bottle of water and gently spray it once in awhile, then pat the area dry.
