Ciao tutti,

I have a fibrotic anastomotic (at the j-pouch outlet) stricture, for which I had several unsuccessful balloon dilatations (the fibrotic seem to be much harder to dilate than the non-fibrotic).

Has anyone had some success dilating such a stricture and if yes how was it done ?

Thanks in advance for your answers !

If it is fibrotic and does not respond to balloon or manual dilation, the next step is typically not more dilation attempts, but surgery (unfortunately).

This would mean stricturoplasty or pouch advancement. Neither one is a cake walk.

Have they tried injections into the stricture during balloon dilation? Sometimes they use steroids or antibiotics.
