Take down was 2 days ago. Surgeon put powder down in my wound now it's stuck at the bottom and I don't want to poke it with the q-tip. Will it eventually wash out by showering? Only little came out this morning when I showered. They didn't tell me to shower the wound twice daily only change gauze twice daily. I don't shower every day (when I have energy, every second day). I'm so frustrated and upset he even did this now

My wound was almost open. He used an ointment and then covered it with a gauge to self heal. I could see my systems inside of it. It self heals in a week. If you don't like to look at it loosely cover it with a sanitised cloth but make sure air passes well through it so that moisture doesn't stick to it.
I got it dressed every 2-3 days from a local pharmacy . Cleaning and redressing helps in faster healing of the site.
I need to know how I get the powder out from the bottom I'm extremely unhappy
I didn’t have powder, from what I remember. However, I would think it would clear out on it’s own. What instructions were you given as far as wound care? I was instructed to take a shower each day and let water run over it, gently dab the area to dry and then place a new small dressing over it. If I were concerned about anything, I would call my surgeon’s office.
I thought of that and if it's still an issue on Monday I will call them.
There is still stuff on the bottom how do I get it out I really need help
And ist started bleeding when I took the gauze out they told me it should no longer bleed but it bleeds!
If I just leave it will it get infected or will my body absorb it or will my body get rid of it or will it eventually come out during shower please I need to know I can't keep prodding in there anymore!
My surgeon told me to shower 2x a day and just let water gently run over the wound. I had a small spot that kept bleeding a little, that got cauterized when I went for my follow up. I just avoided looking at it for a while, too icky. You can call your doc & send a picture on Monday.
I can't handle showering twice a day and was never advised to do so. So I'll just leave it be. I tried calling but hung up because it's a stupid issue to be bothering them about on the weekend. Will it get infected if I just leave it be? Follow-up is in 4 weeks he's on vacation now
You will know if there is infection - the skin around would get red, swollen, and sore., or hot. You could have a fever. Otherwise try not to worry too much. And call the answering service or the office, your dr. has someone covering...I bet they get a LOT of calls from nervous patients after surgery.
Ok thank you I'm a nerve wrack today
