51/52.
60/61 years young!
Age 50 (hospitalized for 5 weeks with pulmonary embolisms and UC). J-Pouch completed at age 51.
I was diagnosed with UC (or Chronic Proctitis) in my mid 40's... I only had 5 flares and the last one was a doozy! I Never made it to the Remicade infusion stage.
61 when I had my colon removed and 62 when I had the takedown. I'm now 76 and all is well!
37, diagnosed with PAP. Healthy with no health problems but on routine scope August 2003, found the 1000's of bad polyps. Colon was removed and my J-Pouch was created 4 September 2003, Take-down was 17 October 2003. Reason for scope and urgency: family history of colon cancer on father's side. 5 days hospital stay for each surgery. Did not have any surgery complications and have been on a regular diet 2 months post surgery.
26 after 18 years of Ulcerative Colitis. I was diagnosed with pan UC at the age of 8. By the time I was 26 my colon was mostly scar and cancer tissue and polyps up to 3cm.
I've had the J-Pouch for 5 years now and while it is far from perfect, it is MUCH better than the life I had with UC.
45 after having UC 23 years.
I was 21 and am 40 now. I feel my pouch has been like good wine---it's gotten better and better with age I don't even notice it anymore or have issues.
16 when I had the 2 surgeries for my j-pouch. I'm now 26. December 1st will be the 10 year anniversary of "part 1" of my surgery, March 2nd will be 10 years for "part 2".
