It varies greatly for me. I'm really impatient so often times I'll get up knowing more is still there which increases my numbers. I'd say I average 5-7 times per day. Yesterday I went over 10 times. Never with any urgency though. I'm just shy of 10 months out now. Believe it or not foods that bind me up cause me to go more. Probably because transit time is slower, and I'm so damn impatient...lol
I've had my jpouch for seven years and I go 8 times a day and three times at night.
I'm roughly 30 months since takedown and more or less since takedown surgery I have an average of 3 to 4 BM per day, sometimes 5, rarely is my sleep disturbed and there's never any urgency.
I am just over 10 mos. and vary from 3-5 times a day; not at night at all.
For the first year after take-down it was probably about 7 times in the day and once at night. Now, after 13 years, it's 4-5 in the day and none at night.
I am at 18 years and go about 7-10 times. I don't really count as it's not an issue. (I also 1-2 times a night)
Hello All,
Great info here you Guys! Thanks so much!
I am curious, how late do you Guys eat you dinner and what is an average bed time?
I am about 10mths out from my jpouch connections and it seems like everyday is different. ScottB, I can relate, I am bad with the discipline as well.
I to have very runny BM's and do wonder if I drink too much water. I do drink a lot and always have even before my surgery. Makes me wonder if things could have been better those days too by not drinking so much,,,,,who knows.
Thanks so much!
Hello, Shaney. If you drink water with your meals that can cause runny BMs. Try to drink before, or after, your meals but not during. Allow time for your food to be absorbed by your stomach before flushing nutrients with a big glass of water.
Hi Shaney. These days I can eat as late as I like (within reason, not a huge meal at 10pm), but for the first few years I didn't eat beyond 9pm. I work in the theatre industry, which means I'm often working til 10.30pm at night, which is rather a spanner in the routine. Bedtime is often after midnight. My stool is always rather watery, but I do drink a lot of water. I'm always thirsty (and this is complicated by thyroid and adrenal gland problems) - I'd rather put up with a watery stool than be dehydrated all the time.
@shaney so weird thing about the consistency with me, when I do not drink enough water things are worse. I'm neither a nutritionist nor a GI but it seems like plenty of water is like oil for a car. My digestion just seems to functioning better. I have less urgency and although somewhat watery I am much more comfortable.
I also find apples are a HUGE no no - especially the peels. I don't think (for me) any other food causes as many issues.
