I had my takedown about 2 months ago.  I'm doing fairly well (only going to the bathroom 6 times a day, 1 time at night). My issue is not with frequency, but instead with gas. 1-2 weeks after my takedown I didn't have much gas at all, but now it seems like I pass more gas than stool. My question is how much gas is too much gas? I know that without a colon, gas is more of an issue, but the amount I'm experiencing seems extreme. I've tried beano in conjunction with eliminating dairy, sugar, gluten. Nothing has helped! 

Also, does gas become less of an issue further out from the takedown? I've always assumed this is my "new normal", but I know many people say it takes months and months to adjust. 

I'm going back to college in a couple of months and am very concerned about my situation because I find it hard to use public bathrooms due to how loud it is when I go to the bathroom (because of the gas). I'm hoping some of these issues resolve before then.

Not sure if there is an official answer but I would say that if it bothers you then it is too much. If it causes you undue pain, anguish or embarrassment then it is too much.

How to put pay to it? 

Well,  there is no one-fits-all solution. 

You can take probiotics that can be effective at controlling it. Reduce dairy products that are major gas producers, avoid starchy carbs and sugar in the same meal (avoid fruits after meals?) and do not drink juice with meals. 

I am a firm believer that separating your food groups helps (that is a personal opinion, not a fact) so I do...it has helped me with digestion and lowered my gas level but it is not an obligation.

Avoid sodas and sugary foods.
