Recovering from mucosectomy and pouch advancement ( she turned my pouch, had a slight curve on the way out.)

On normal recovering days it's sometimes only a little each time I go. But there are nights every so often where I get up EVERY HOUR then in the morning and for the rest of the day some stool has reddish color in it and redness on TP...it's more burgundy I guess... but it's not all the time. I don't think its pouchitis....I'd it just irritation? Already been scoped and surgeon didn't see anything inside that caused concern..just inflammation from surgery that is holding things back every so often..

Bright blood means that it is 'close by' and dark blood means that it is coming from somewhere 'up the line'.
Or at least that is my rule of thumb.
What are you eating? Is it possible that it has some red colouring in it? (just asking because I had a panic attack yesterday when I emptied my pouch and the bowl was red. 3xs in a row it was a dark red. I have bleeding before so I recognise it immediately but I had forgotten about the red jujubies!).
Certain chewing gums with fruit centers, jelly candies, Twisters, beets, red grape juice, wine etc can all do that.
If you haven't eaten anything that has artificila or natural colouring in it then maybe a stool test is in order.
Have you spoken to your doctor about this? What does he say?
Can you go to any lab and have them take one or do you need an appt?
