Hospital in Italy?

Hi I am planning a 3 week vacation to Italy with my family in July. I am very worried about travelling now because of a perianal abcess that's still healing almost 6 months now.. Can anyone recommend a hospital in Italy that understands J pouches? I will have my surgeon write all my issues and prescribe me meds just in case.. I'm thinking positive but need to have a just in case plan..

I actually would like to know if there's a hospital or even decent doctors that know about j pouches in Italy because I would like to do an exchange program there and my biggest hurdle from going is my j pouch. I did some research on it but didn't get much.

Italy is pretty big. Where will you be? You might do a search here because there are some members from Italy or who have lived there: mari60, Ikh, emi73, killcolitis.

yes,where in Italy?
I had my J pouch made in Perugia and I think they are good there. In Bologna at the S.Orsola there is a IBD big center,probably the bigger in Italy.I think in every city you could find some good doctor who knows about it.Where are you going to be?

Thank you we will be in Calabria and then travel to Rome Milan and Venice.. I will look into the hospitals.. What is a j pouch called in Italian?

is called the same J pouch o tasca ileale.If you like send me a private post if you are around here, I live about halfway between Roma and Firenze and if I am in town you could come and say hello...and let me know if you need information about hospitals and depending where you are I might find out,may be asking my doctor.
