Hi Everyone,

I could use some advice. I am experiencing horrible back pain (spasms) that is at 10 level when I stand or walk. (No pain sitting or lying down).

It seems that the pain stems from my pouch pushing against a nerve. (My jpouch is over strecthed and not very functional; I am on the waiting list for jpouch reconstruction surgery)

I am seeing a Gastro Specialist and Rheumatologist. All the Rheumatologist has done is say to take painkillers (atisol 8). He did send me for a MRI, but will be on vacation for the next 2 weeks and won't be around when the results (report) is ready.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

The pain is horrible!

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Solomin

I had extreme pain in my back like this as well, including EN (erythema nodosum) on my legs at the same time. If it is related, it could be that your pouch needs to be drained of fluid (pus) because it might be related to an infection due to the toxins having nowhere to go.

I don't know if this helps you at all but I hope you figure out what is going on soon. Good luck to you and feel better.

I had a fever off and on, and I don't remember whether or not the blood tests showed signs of infection but I think they must have done some sort of test to know that I should have my pouch drained... I just don't remember though, I'm sorry. That isn't very helpful... Frowner

I had pain while I was in the airport on the way to the hospital. It was sudden and extreme and it wouldn't go away until I requested a wheelchair and got to sit down...
