Hi Katrina,
I have had a k pouch for 37 yrs, travel a lot and always buy travel insurance. I do not tell them that I have a pouch, (it is none of their business and they do not ask about it) I am never asked about pre-existing conditions.
There are certain exclusions in case of problems. You can not claim on a medical problem if you have had recent surgery on the area...I believe that the restrictions are not to have been operated in the previous year for the problem.
If you had an obstruction in January and then travel and claim on a new one they may not cover it...or if someone has had cancer and then goes to a hospital for chemo while on vacation...But you do not have to disclose your medical condition.

ps...I have learned the hard way to carry a data stick with all of my latest scans, MRIs, x-rays etc as well as my medical file scanned into it...I also keep lists of any pertinent information required in case I cannot speak for myself.
I photograph any prescriptions that I use regularly and if need be carry a card in my wallet to tell people to check my wallet or cell phone.
Hope that this helps
Sharon
