Start small and chew chew chew!

In the beginning, I would avoid things that are especially prone to causing gas (beans, cruciferous vegetables, etc.) and definitely avoid things that could cause obstructions, especially in the early stages of healing when intestines could still be swollen (nuts, corn, really fibrous foods, mushrooms, etc.). You might want to check out the United Ostomy Assoc site for more ideas: http://www.ostomy.org

I am only a few months out from my surgery and enjoy lots of produce.

Good luck!
