I’ve had intermittent bleeding for a week and a half. Dark red blood (fresh) on the stool mostly and once on the toilet paper. It doesn’t happen every time I go. I do have pretty severe straining and urge to go when I sit on the toilet. I thought it was related to my pouch but I don’t have a fever, stomach pain, cramping, incontinence, seepage at night, etc. I’m also on Cimzia )like humera) for my arthritis. My GI hasn’t told me that this medicine will also help prevent pouchitis. Sooo? This makes me believe it’s not pouchitis.

If it is hemmoroids, how do you all treat it? I am a little tight muscle-wise back there, so I’m weary about inserting anything -cream or a enema of preparation H, for example. I just don’t want to damage anything. Any suggestions?

Called my GI last week and left a message and his assistant (she’s new so I don’t know her that well yet) didn’t call my back. Called again this week (two days ago) and haven’t heard back. Saw more blood today in the toilet and on stool and called this am and it’s now 2:40pm and haven’t heard back. Idk if I should call again or not, especially going into the weekend.

I’m so thankful for this post. I understand what you are going through. I’ve been having issues with “tightness” in the columnar “cuff” area of the jpouch & cant seem to get food  (mainly roughage like cucumbers/ even cooked veggies) to pass & I have to strain & push to pass stool (TMI but little stool passes through) then I get the BB’s (butt burns) due to some slight bile seepage and I’m just uncomfortable & the tightness & throbbing I feel like could be pouchitis. I’m very gaseous & jouch is gurgling a ton (gas x seems to help- my primary care suggested) I fasted yesterday most of the day (sometimes it’s as if no food helps) & had a Greek yogurt smoothie with a half banana & 1/4 cup frozen blueberries & it seemed to ease my issue for the day but I tried to eat a little cooked/ steamed  veggies last evening & tonight  only to have the throbbing & straining issue again.  I’m considering always blending my vegetables in a smoothie and just eating proteins eggs chicken fish red meat. I do know that there are times I can eat anything (lower portions) relatively speaking  (except nuts & popcorn- they’re cause “cuff” red blood bleeding so I avoid those) I attached a jouch diagram to show where the tightness is also I’m not the best at portion sizes but less portions seems to work better & eating every 4ish hours to allow the prior meal to digest.
