I use turmeric paste at night with my tea. I feel it helps with my joint pain and the inflammation. My test results show very little inflammation; although I still have the rectal pain. The more I eat the more I go. I feel food and hydrating is key.
Hi Scott F- My doctor did recommend tumeric to me at one time, I did try it and unfortunately did not have great affects. I suffer from IBS and irritable bowel syndrome, plus have many problems with J pouch. Thank you so much for all your wonderful information and articles.
If you want to try turmeric to see if it will help your inflammation, try to buy the fresh turmeric root and grate it into your cooking, as you would fresh ginger root. The turmeric root can be wrapped tightly in plastic and stored in the freezer for a long time and used as needed. You can probably find it at super health food / organic stores or in Asian grocery stores for under $4. The capsules from health food stores can cost three times as much, and the powder can be a bit expensive if you want to experiment. Absorption is Increased by using it with black pepper. Buying the fresh root is cheaper and it's fresh. As with the powder, fresh turmeric can temporarily stain your hands and some kitchen surfaces orange. Can be removed from surfaces with baking soda and light scrubbing. Good luck!
Thank you so much, will give it a try, however, right now going through some rough times with another problem my doctors have found, nothing to do with previous problems. Take good care, and God Bless.
