Help me fight VAC. Retired Canadian Military.

I don't know how Canadian armed services policy works, but in the US diseases contracted during active duty are considered service connected disability. At least that was how it used to be. What are they telling you? Are they saying you are discharged and on your own? Even so, doesn't Canada have universal health care?

Our health coverage is amazing, that is not the problem. I am looking for a favourable decision so any meds, devices, treatments, are covered.

Right now I have coverage that I pay for but it only covers so much. I am going to have a hard time with working, my pension covers the bills at home, but the extra cost of the meds, devices, and treatments is going to bury us in medical expenses pretty quickly. While I served the medication was free, now retired I have about 70% coverage.

If VAC approves my disability it holds them to make sure all connected medical expenses are paid for me.

My lawyer went over my case with me and said I had strong evidence, but the board looks for "any way out" so I was hoping someone had similar experience or stories to help me.
