Does anyone else suffer from chronic fissures ?
I am currently using rectiv to help but hate it. My GI just prescribed nifedipine.

Does anyone see any issues with taking either of these meds long term? It seems by the end of my two week reprieve from antibiotics, the anal pain is so severe and the fissures are back again.

For some reason antibiotics seem to also help w the fissures and anal pain but I am so stubborn and don't want to be on chronic antibiotics so I toy with the period of time I am able to stay off them until everything goes south and the recurring, very painful, fissures seem to be part of the theme.

I have WAY fewer issues with fissures and cuffitis, and spend tons less on various butt creams since I got my bidet. It seriously changed my life. You can buy the biobidet i3000 model for $180 (just a happy customer, not affiliated with the company).

It's been worth it's weight in gold and has moved me from living with chronic pain of 4/10 to 0/10 and way fewer episodes of acute pain than before as well.

Yes, it cleans out better even if the anastomosis is very tight. IMO That's when you need it most.I had a hand held sprayer hooked to the stools water source. It was nice but nothing compares to a bidet and it didn't help water to get inside my j-pouch. I have a portable bidet, squirt bottle, that I take with when I'm gone over night. It doesn't compare to using my bidet. I know the bidet's helped with my cuffitis. I use the "turbo" spraying function for partial enema like cleaning without doing a full enema to help my pouch completely empty.

It's all good as having less excrement sitting around inside my pouch is less irritation for cuffits. I imagine it would help fissures too. I got a Coco bidet on sale for $329 and wish I'd gotten it right at take down. $180 sounds good too!
