Hi everyone,

I've had a j-pouch since 2000. In last 18 months i've had 3 partial bowel obstructions.

I just got out of hospital with my 3rd.

So I've elected to let Dr. Nagle here at Beth Israel in Boston do a laproscpic procedure to go in and clean up the adhesions causing the recurring obstruction.

The CT scans show it is always the part of my bowel where the re-section was from first surgery that is the problem. Her and her team said they can usually just go in laprocscopy and get rid of some of those adhesions/scar tissue, which should help me long term.

Have any of you had this done? Did it help you? Was it successful? I'm sure there are some nightmare stories, but I hope some of you have some positive stories too?

Dr. Nagle is chief of colo rectal surgery at Beth Israel in Boston. There have been complaints about her rudeness and customer service in office, but she is highly regarded as a great surgeon by others in the field i've asked so that's what really matters most to me.

I've talked to her personally and she's been fine with me the few times we've spoken.

If you were in my shoes, would you make this move? I figure 3 partial bowel obstructions, NG Tube hospital stays in 18 months is enough....It will keep happening.

Please post your advice.

thanks!

Tyler
