Heart issues

Anyone ever have dilated cardiomyopathy? Or know someone who is affected? I have the disorder ( with a LBBB ) and take 3 meds per day. I will be getting my yearly echo-cardiogram this month. I don't have symptoms, never have. I always wonder if it could be connected to all the prednisone I took and the auto-immune condition - ulcerative colitis. It can run in families. My mom had it. She lived to be 84. And died of something else unrelated. Whew. It's always something!

My husband has LBBB, but without cardiomyopathy. But, he also is diabetic (and has UC). His only cardiac related med is a statin.

Jan, can this heart problem have anything to do with another autoimmune disorder or disease?
