Doctors say I have a crohns induced fistula. I was too lazy to look for my previous posts about this, sorry. They wanted me to go on remicade, but the GI emailed me this morning saying I have antibodies (was on remicade last year during flare). I'm kind of crushed. She is suggesting humira. I hated doing that and messed up several times last year. Had the antibody check last year and I think it was clear. How is humira for treating fistula?
I'll admit I'm terrified to give myself injections and terrified that it won't work :/
Thanks,
Katie

I'm on Humira to attempt to heal my perianal fistula. It does have the ability, like Remicade, to heal them. Won't know until you try. I'm trying it though it's a crapshoot. Anything to get rid of it!

I give my daughter's Humira as syringes, but I do mine as pens. They're pretty much a no-brainer. Humira stings, though... Less so in my belly than my legs, though. Just a tip.

The guy down the street has Crohn's, and when he started the pens, he accidentally had the pen in the wrong direction, and shot all the Humira into his THUMB!! LOL

His kids said he yelled a REALLY REALLY BAD WORD, at the top of his lungs, with that one (he's normally a very quiet soft-spoken guy).

At least you didn't do that! And every time I give myself a shot, I check and recheck I have it in the right direction!
