Hey people, how many of you have headaches in the morning when you wake up, and feel the need for extra water? I feel it very often. Does this mean i'm always dehydrated?

I eat both immodium and bulking agents, however some days i do not eat them at all, in that case my stool gets looser but it's still alright. However i read that both bulking agents and immodium themselves make you need to drink extra water?

I often take dehydration/diarrea tablets that dissolves into water in the morning, i think it is some sort of mineral/salt combined with sweetener to make it drinkable.

What should i do? Is it bad to feel like this often? It's not a big problem. Carry on doing what i do? I cant exactly go up in the middle of the night to drink...

Manuel,
No, never in my case but I do have an unquenchable thrist when I wake up...I drink 2-3 glasses of water plus a glass of juice and a pot full of coffee...And by 10am I need to drink another glass or 2...I would honestly talk your doctor...things that we feel are not always pouch related...thirst and headaches could also be related to your blood sugar levels and many other things but I would get a professional opinion.

Hmm, won't you have alot of very loose stools during the day if you drink so much in the morning?

Well, i'm sure i dont drink enough. I'm a bad drinker of water... I'll try to drink more during a couple of days. And by the way i'll be on a boat for the next 8 weeks, so a doctor would be hard to meet. ^^

If it stays, i'll mail or call my doc. Thanks!
Manuel,
I have a k pouch which is the same pouch but with a different exit strategy...I have a valve and a tube that I stick in to empty the pouch out so I need things to be liquidy...good for me, bad for you.
If you are not a good drinker then you can fill a large water bottle and take regular sips throughout the day...sometimes small sips are better than large glasses of water and that way your stool does not get liquidy...it also allows you to measure how much you are drinking in a day.
I would still speak to your doc before setting sail just to make sure...better to deal with whatever it is before you find yourself on a boat in the middle of nowhere!
