For the past two months I've been getting almost daily headaches. Sometimes Tylenol helps, other times it's got to be Ibuprofen or Advil. I don't feel thirsty, but I also don't drink nearly enough as I should.

I sometimes wake up with a headache and sometimes it comes at random times during the day. I already have glasses, so I don't think it's eye strain. I eat regularly and don't skip meals. I don't drink caffeine like coffee.

I'm thinking it's dehydration - it's literally almost every day. Always in the same place- front forehead area. I'm trying to drink more, but it's a struggle. It's 3pm and I had 30 oz -40 oz (15 was the hot cocoa I had early - so yum). I did have some diluted Gatorade when I woke up this am thinking that it might help. I'm drinking more now that I my headache has set in.

Thoughts?

There is no need to guess about your hydration status. Your kidneys always know. If your urine is light colored, and you *need* to pee 3-4 times per day, then you are adequately hydrated. If it’s dark colored or less frequent then you are likely too dry.

Your kidneys don’t care how much water you drink, only how much water you absorb. If water alone won’t do the trick for you then you may need other methods (e.g. oral rehydration solution). Staying too dry is a set-up for all kinds of problems, and worth a lot of effort to avoid.
