Has there been a poll on pouchitis meds?

I seem to get pouchitis at least once a year and sometimes more. I was wondering if there has been a poll on meds for it? I have not done a poll, but will if there has not been one. I would want to ask:

What meds do you take? For me it’s Flagyl and Levaquin.

What dose? Flagyl 500 mg 3 times a day for 7 to 10 days. Levaquin 500 mg once a day for 7-10 days.

I’ve done the above for 7 days each with success, but found 7 days Flagyl and 10 days Levaquin are good. That’s usually because Flagyl is tough on me.

I’m debating doing 7 days Flagyl but at 500 mg twice a day. One doc gave me twice a day like that 10 years ago.

Hello DJJ2019,

I used to use Flagyl and Cipro, together, with success. Most recently I have taken Xifaxin 550mg 3x daily for 14 days. Once I took for 28 days. It is expensive, my Gi doc usually has coupons she gives me.
