Yes, around 25 year ago so my memory isn't so good now. I didn't have to have skin flap surgery, but did have to have a temp ileostomy for months to allow things to heal. I hope yours is healing well and that you have no more problems!

I had something that the doc said he would call a fissure because he had never seen anything like it. It hurt like hell! It healed on its own after I began taking Questran to bind the acids in my stool.

Yes , I had a fissure running from my rectum to my vagina in 1996. Had surgical repair with skin "pulled" over it to "shut it down" was supposed to be hospitalized over night but after the operation it ended up being much more difficult than they expected and was in the hospital for 4 days. They took skin from around my rectum and was extremely painful. But as all of us j pouch patients know, none of these procedures are ever without pain! We know pain! I never had one again ( thank God!) even though I am on my second pouch. Good luck to you!!

I had one last year and it was awfully painful i had surgery and took at least 6 months to heal as im constantly going to the bathroom atleast 10 times a day. Good luck i never want to have surgery on bottom again.
