So i had my final surgery about 2 months ago and for the first month and a half things were great, BMs where formed, I could hold it for hours and was going around 5-6 times a day. But then around 2 weeks ago, literally overnight, things changed 180 degrees. My BMS are watery, I have pain and trouble when trying to hold, and I am going around 10 times a day, getting up 3 times during the night. My diet didn't change, I didn't start any new medications, there is really nothing I can think of to why there was this huge change. My doctor says its not pouchitis because my symptoms would be a lot worse and would also have fever ect. So has anyone experienced a change in pouch function like this? I expected it to just keep getting better, not get worse.

PS I am on VLC antibiotics, 2 packets a day, it has help a bit but not much.

Your doctor is wrong two ways. As Liz writes, it sure could be C. diff pouchitis, or it could be "ordinary" non-infectious pouchitis. The lack of a fever means very little. I'm guessing that when you write "VLC antibiotics" you mean "VSL probiotics." If this is your surgeon, it sounds like you need a gastroenterologist, a stool test for C. diff, and a course of (probably) Flagyl. Good luck - doctors who know less than they think they know are a PITA.
