I've been having difficulty for the last 6 months to a year with emptying pouch. Starts at old stoma sight where it feels like it's stuck. Had small bowel series and upper GI. They said all was normal. So I just kept on keeping on. Now the getting stuck has lead to further problems in the lower end where I feel the pressure to go and can only empty some ( seems like 100 times) each time. Then finally that night it turns to liquid and gets through. Once I'm empty I don't feel the pain under the old stoma area. Then it's time to let the lower end heal and relax. All I can do is soak in hot baths to relieve the pain. Had CT in June. Just got results with doc last week (he was out for surgery on himself). He says he sees a loop of bowel on that side with the pain and that he can feel it. So we did a gastrograph today. It wasn't all that bad...until the end when the radiology tech answered my question. I was looking at the final picture she took and asked if that was the contrast sitting in my small intestines on either side of the screen. She said, "No that the contrast in your colon." I said, "but I don't have a colon. I have a j-pouch". She said, "Are you sure? They really took out all of it? I should go tell the radiologist that. I didn't tell her that in my paperwork." Ugh.....not a good feeling. Should I just chalk it up to the fact that she's not a radiologist and maybe isn't that well versed in the anatomy? or should that worry me about the facility that did the test?

Anyone ever had this test through the rectum before? It was strange, but tolerable. I felt pressure but not too much pain. Is that a good sign? Anyone else have a good or bad experience with this test? Thanks
