I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and knows what I can do. I have a small granuloma to the left of my stoma and it leaks pus and blood. My ostomy nurse gave me silver aquacel cloth and an exuderm covering so it stays protected when I put my wafer over it. The problem I am having is the pus and blood is causing my appliance to loosen and I get stool leakage on that side. She switched me to a convex wafer to protect it from stool and I am still leaking. I get 2-3 days wear out of the appliance before I have to change it. This granuloma is becoming a big annoyance and I wish it would heal already but I feel the leaking is stopping that from happening. I see my surgeon soon to get his opinion. Does anyone know what I can do to help stop the leakage, or do I have to deal with it until it heals?
