It's most likely gastroenteritis (a GI bug/food poisoning). If you can stay hydrated you can probably avoid the ER, but if you fall too far behind you'll need an IV. Make sure you're still producing urine and it's not too dark - that's your best test. If you're able to eat, try some thickening foods. Everyone has different preferences, but rice, marshmallows, and bananas are common recommendations. Soluble fiber might help. Good luck!
Definitely go to the ER if you feel light headed or dizzy.
Otherwise, I'd focus on rehydrating with salty broths and non-sugary electrolyte replacements (G2 is pretty good). Plain water is not good enough when you have high volume output.

One afternoon I had that happen to me too and it was very scary! After a while, it did stop and I just tried to stay hydrated although I knew I was losing too much to keep up. It was very strange! I hope it has gotten better for you, and of course if you are feeling very ill yes, head to the ER.
How are you doing now? Has it slowed yet?
I know that this is unconventional...but if you have a motion sickness medication (pill, patch, liquid, chewable...) see if you can get it down...it slows the peristaltic rhythm and allows your body to ease up on the output long enough to rehydrate a little...
They have been giving it to me here for 35yrs for the same reason and started back in the '70's as a way to control 'chronic gastro'....
But please, listen to Jan's and Scott's advice...do not allow yourself to get dehydrated...if you do, head straight for ER.

I went to the ER to get fluids .. really had no choice. How do I delete a post ? Lol not a comment but a post thread?
I believe only forum moderators can delete whole topics (which is what you do when you delete a topic starter). That said, this is a good post to leave up because it is a good reminder for all of us.
Thanks for coming back and letting us know your outcome. Glad you are feeling better!
