Hi, when last I posted I was writing about a protein diet one of my GIs, Dr. Shen, had put me on (which I loathed.) But then I ended up in the ER with an obstruction and it turns out I had an adhesion in my small intestine. Since then I've just been on a low fiber diet (per surgeon.) Both my usual GI, Dr. Longman, at the Jill Roberts Center for IBD, and Dr. Shen at Columbia Presbyterian differed on what my problem was; one thought I had Crohn's the other didn't. Dr. Shen said I have a floppy pouch and was treating me with banding this past year (twice.) And then I end up with the adhesion in my intestine, which may or may not have been causing my issues, and it's not clear for how long it was there? Apparently the adhesion or "string" moves which is why it may not have shown up on previous CT scans. I'm not very happy with either GI, neither saw me or even followed up with me after my surgery. I wasn't feeling well today, when I went out I got nauseous and had a worse stomach ache then the last two times I ended up in the ER (including last visit which ended up in surgery.) I had the same symptoms, worse actually, almost two months ago, both times feeling relief only when I lay down. When I looked at a notebook where I write down symptoms, I was rather upset to see how many times I've been having stomach aches in general of late... I would like to get a third opinion, and wondered if anyone could suggest someone else in the NYC area? Thanks!
