Has anyone seen Dr. Laura Yun at Northwestern Memorial? The GI I wanted to see I can't get into until August and I could see her much earlier but then I have to stay with her. Just wondering if anyone has seen this doctor Yun. Thanks
If you are willing to come to Illinois, why not come a little further and go to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Anyone on the GI staff here will be excellent. Our surgeons are excellent, too.
I saw her awhile back for the same reasons. She is fine if you just need a script for antibiotics or otherwise know exactly what you want. That said, if you are having any serious pouch issues, no one at Northwestern or Chicago even comes close to the people at Cleveland Clinic. I live in Chicago, but go to Cleveland Clinic when I have issues. You average GI just doesn't see enough pouches day-to-day to really understand all the things that can go wrong with them.
If you can't get out of Chicago, the group at Northwestern should be fine. They (including Dr. Yun) certainly treat people with cuffitis and pouchitis problems. Northwestern also has two Cleveland Clinic trained colorectal surgeons.
I had my j-pouch surgeries done with the doctors at the University of Chicago Medical Center. I highly recommend them and their staff. I can give you their names via IM if you'd like.
