GI Docs - NY / Long Island | The J-Pouch Group

Hey All,

Been having some pretty bad stomach pains/cramping for the last 4-6 weeks; had my pouch scoped (was good), and had a CT scan with and w/o contrast and was told "all looks good."

I'm not sure where else to turn, so I figured maybe I should see a gastro for a possible stomach or small intestine issue. I've only seen my surgeon for the previous 12 years after surgery. Anyone familiar with gastroenterologists out on Long Island (or in NYC) ? Waiting for recommendations from my surgeon, but I'm sure he'll have only NYC recs.

My surgeon who used to be at Cleveland Clinic, Dr Remzi, went to NYU Langone last year. There is a great GI there who he suggested my nephew to see, his name is Dr Hudesman.

Thanks, I'll take a look!

My surgeon, of course, wants to send me to one of the GI's he works closely with, which is fine except he does not take insurance. However, 2 of the other GIs in that office do. I wonder if it'd matter who I saw???

Kenny, it almost always matters who you see. Perhaps you can get a second recommendation from your surgeon?
