I just had blood with my stool. Can this happen sometimes or should I go to the ER? Thanks.

It depends on how much blood is involved, and whether you’re still bleeding. Some blood on the toilet paper or a bit in the bowl is often just a hemorrhoid. Cuffitis can often bleed, but it’s rarely a reason to go to the ER. It’s best to try to figure out what’s causing the blood to show up. And active, significant bleeding does need to be stopped promptly.
I do not have hemorrhoids
Why don't you try to connect with your GI or surgeon. They should be able to tell you if it is something to worry about or not. It will also give you peace of mind especially with us heading into a holiday weekend. They also know more about your situation than the ER doctors do.
Yea I did they just want me to monitor it
I'm still bleeding as of this morning. Monitoring it does not give me piece of mind. I'm quite scared now. Could it be a lose stitch? Is my life in danger? Could it be pouchitis? Is this going to be my new normal?
You still haven’t described the quantity or character of the bleeding. None of us can know the answer without more information. Does it happen at every bowel movement?
Every bowel movement, no pain. It's mixed as I always poop. I can never go and not poop. So it's never just blood alone it's always with poop. I don't know about quantity. It's just every time I go there is also blood.
It could be pouchitis, I don't see blood often but it's a good sign I've let myself get to far. I don't get extra pain with pouchitis, it's more gas and discomfort, sleep is hard. My suggestion is to up probiotics if you can, sometimes they can just give me more gas but I start doubling up on probiotics if I think anything is off and I usually don't have to go on antibiotics.
Good luck

This is what helped me. The bleeding stopped. Thank you.
Keep an eye on it, if it happens again you might have to see your GI and get a round of antibiotics. Hopefully you don't have to go that route but you don't want it to get out of control.
Good luck
Well I had a scope today and it's pouchitis. I'm waiting for the pharmacy to fill the cipro. I'm not happy.
Also I need dilation. I have that scheduled also
Glad to hear that you are getting things sorted out. I know it can be frustrating but at least you are getting some answers and a plan to follow.
Good luck
He told me to self dilate with a candle stick.
So I had a dilation under anesthesia today and it's bleeding. Is this normal?

why didn't they just dilate you with the scope if you needed it? why reschedule and have to go through the whole thing again? I am sure that was costly
We didn't know I needed dilation until he barely inserted the scope. I'm not worried about the cost as I maxed out both in-network and out-of-network deductibles this year because I had 2 surgeries already (J-pouch creation & takedown)
I'm still bleeding. Is this normal? Also when should I start to self dilate?
When I can start to self dilate?
He told me the candle should be 18 mm and I found a tapered dinner candle that has that measurement at the bottom. He said to only put a fist length inside of course. He dilated me to 20 mm.
When he was done there was a lot of stool coming out. I hadn't eaten since 8 pm the day prior and I didn't need to use the restroom in the morning. I was baffled where all this stool was coming from? I still am.
After that I had absolutely no control over my bowel movements. I had to go to Target to get my candles and after I came home, I have never seen a diaper this full. While I was in the store I was afraid it was visible. But thankfully it wasn't.
And I had a very bad rash. I'm surprised how quickly this developed. I think that's where the blood was coming from because I merely needed to touch my skin around my anus and it was bleeding. I already put a lot of diaper rash cream on it and it's still there but it seems a little better. I'm still wearing diapers today to be sure. I don't know if I gained control in my sphincter again and I don't want to risk anything.
He said the dilation will make my pouchitis better as I can now release stool better. I hope he's right.
