Getting ready for step 1 of 3

Does anybody have advice for my sister who is having step 1 in a week and a half? I had emergency surgery so I wasn't able to prepare and I had two steps.

my step 1 of 3 was a semi emergency but if i was to have planned it i would have just tried to take it easy the week before. eat well, take some vitamin d, and do some exercise. and read up as much as you can on ileostomy and how to manage the bag.
