My pediatric gastroenterologist has agreed to continue to treat me until I turn 23. I have just turned 21 and feel that, despite not being forced out of CHOC, that it is time for me to move on. When I asked my doctor for recommendations he told me to compile a list and then he would look into each name to find one that would best fit my needs. But I'm having trouble narrowing down the long list of available gastroenterologists. If anyone knows of or has a good gastro in the orange county area, I would greatly appreciate it if you could pass along their information to me. My thanks goes out to any who choose to respond.

I swear by my gastroenterologist.  After all, he bore with me through three years of my insistence that he try every medical intervention before I ever thought about surgery.  Finally, I agreed and he referred me to a wonderful colorectal surgeon who I still see for monitoring every one or two years.  It has been 12 years since my surgery.  Actually, I saw my GI doc a few weeks ago when my colorectal surgeon did a scoping at their endoscopy center.  So......my gastroenterologist is Donald Abrahm, MD.  He is in Newport Beach..... 1525 Superior Ave., Ste 104......phone (949) 631-2670.  He is very popular so don't be surprised if there is quite a wait to get that first appointment.  You won't regret choosing him.  Best wishes!
