I'm 4 months take-down post-op and still trying to figure out what's normal... and I'm also 5 months pregnant with my first so I'm trying to sort out what might be pregnancy stuff and what is J-Pouch stuff... so any insight is appreciated Smiler

For the last 2 1/2 weeks I've been struggling with watery output, decreased appetite, mild nausea, and GAS that seems to be not just in my pouch but extending up into my stomach/torso as well - like kind of the way it feels after surgery and you have CO2 trapped inside - which also seems to be partially relieved when I crack my back? I've always had some intermittent gas pains when stuff moves through a certain section of my intestine (I think where my ostomy was) but this has definitely been worse.

I thought it might be a partial blockage except it seems like I might have been vomiting more and not having so many bowel movements (and I'm still passing solid material, even if it's not formed).

It seems to have improved mildly over the last two weeks with probiotics and walking more regularly (which has been especially hard to keep up with this winter!) - but not back to "normal". I'm starting to get a little concerned because I've been struggling so much with my appetite and lost weight when I'm supposed to be gaining.

Most of what you are experiencing sounds normal to pregnancy and/or 4 months post TD. Heartburn is very typical with pregnancy (gas feeling extending up your torso).

Maybe you also have a mild case of pouchitis that would explain why the probiotics are helping to relieve your symptoms.

I was perfectly healthy when I was last pregnant (25 yrs ago), but I had the same pain around the torso you describe. I described the feeling as if somebody was squeezing me with a huge rubber band. BTW.... this will be very similar feeling you will experience when you are having contractions.

I have only put on about 2 lbs since my TD in April. I have the same appetite and activity as I did before all this "crap" happened.
