Hello, Dee2015. Eat good fats by cooking with extra virgin olive oil, but just low to medium heat cooking, not high heat cooking such as sautéing because olive oil can't withstand high heat. Drizzle EV olive oil on vegetables (if and when you can tolerate vegetables). Toasted sesame oil adds flavour to any food and is a good fat. Avocado is a good fat, and spread on toast and topped with poached or scrambled egg will give you protein. Pasta with pesto sauce! Add some roast or baked chicken for protein. Any nut butter, but buy the organic kind that is made of roasted nuts only, without added salt, sugar, preservatives. Pancakes with 100% pure maple syrup. Try to get your fat and protein from natural, whole food sources, not from popping supplements. And there is always the treat of a scoop of Hagen Daas ice cream......

My 16 yr old son drink Fuel protein drinks by Organic Valley.  They are natural and have 26 grams of protein and 260 calories.  They are natural not like the Boost or Ensure which are loaded with artificial stuff.  He eats lot of protein (bars, peanut butter, cheeses, chicken, smoothies) and carbs.  He lifts weights 4x per week.  He is slowly gaining weight.  He was 88 lbs 5'9" prior to his first surgery last December.  Now one yer later, he is 6 months post takedown is 125.  He is still very thin and continue to gain.
