My 16 yr old son is 6 months post takedown. Strangely he often gags on his food. More frequently in the morning but can be any time of day. He is not nauseous and doesn't throw up, just gets this gag reflex. Anyone else have this?

Did this start right after takedown, or on a different schedule? Is he on any medications? Does he have any other medical conditions?
No other meds or conditions. Takes probiotics, fish oil, multi. and has been for many years. It started after step one surgery
I could imagine some damage to the throat when the breathing tube was inserted for anesthesia. This would be very unusual, though, and (if it occurred) it might not have been noticed. Others may have other ideas.
