We have often discussed the eventuality of alzheimer's or being put into long-term care and j pouches...many of us have even gone as far as considering a 'preventive'  end ileo etc. to avoid complications later in life.

My question is...What do you do if you have an end ileo or k pouch/BCIR and you cannot use your dominant hand?

I just had another stupid accident (mangled my right hand by getting it caught between the blades of the mixmaster) and although it is not serious the hand is bandaged, swollen and sore.

I cannot imagine not having the use of my right hand...how do I work my pouch? Syringe + catheter + water etc...

What does one do if they have a serious accident or stroke? How do you deal with your ileo then?

Just wondering.

Sharon
