My first surgery for colon removal was in August last year. The take down was October. I read and hear about the one year mark being the " magical" time frame... I'm trying to introduce some foods- this week cooked carrots and today had multigrain pancakes with blueberries. Both causing so much butt burn I won't be doing that again for awhile. Not eating much in the way of fruits and vegetables yet. Really eating gluten free tortillas, waffles, eggs, chicken, a gluten free cereal. I'm wondering about people mentioning juicing.. Seems you are still getting the acid so haven't done that yet either thinking I'd try veggies and fruits separately to see which I can tolerate and put those in the blender. I don't drink alcohol yet, very little veggies and no fruits. And if ur not supposed to have sugars.. Well Geesh  seems all I eat are carbs. Waiting to be a healthy eater again.

I guess I was a dummy post-op. Ignorance is bliss, eh? I was eating pretty much of a regular diet a week or so post-op. I had trials and tribulations, but gradually things improved as my gut adapted. There were very few foods that were consistently bad actors. I figured that if you baby it too long, it gets used to being babied. Could be I am totally off base, but it worked for me.

I'm at just over 4 months and like jan I have an unrestricted diet. I find my biggest issue is the tendency to eat too much too quickly and then I go more often but in terms of food it's all good in moderation, even spicey foods. I take one immodium a day and that seems to have got rid of the burn. If I stop taking it within a few days I notice my output burns more
