I got my colostomy and takedown in 2006 and for some reason I keep seeing this weird fluid Come out of my belly button, because that's where the incision is. Does anyone else deal with this?

Since your surgery was 18 years ago this fluid isn’t likely to have much of a connection. How long has this fluid been leaking? How often does it happen? Can you estimate the amount? Is the area tender or painful? Is there any swelling? What color is the fluid? Does it smell?
Well it started I think like a month after my second surgery. It's a daily thing but barely any comes out. Sometimes blood collects in the belly button. Yes it does smell.
In the 18 years that this has been going on have you ever gotten an opinion from a doctor about it? If so, what did they think?
That sounds scary!!! Please see a colon surgeon, ASAP!
Will do.
My daughter suffered with belly button issues post colectomy/j-pouch. She was told to use a light hydrogen peroxide rinse weekly, and during an issue, an antibiotic ointment called mupiricin. (Generic for Bactroban,?). She was placed on oral antibiotics once I believe. It’s related. How? I have no idea.

Did you make an appointment???
It's all good. I actually asked my doctor about it and he said not to worry.
Not to worry?! I would ask a second opinion, I would ask a colon surgeon to be honest. It is up to you but I would ask a colon surgeon to be on the safe side, there is nothing to lose with a second opinion.
It could be a small abscess behind the belly button that just never reabsorbed. It needs a place to go so it seeps out (a good thing because a closed abscess, even if steril can be very painful). If you put some pressure on either side of the belly button and press down slightly, does more fluid come out? If so, that is exactly what it is, a pocket of fluid (if it is clear and odorless then it usually isn't infected but if it is greenish, thick or has an odour then it could be infecting or infected). If you put a piece of gauze over it for a day and check out its color and smell it can tell you a lot.
