are they no longer done in doctors office. seem I am finding only done at a hospital/endoscopy center. was yrs. ago that mine was done in office so quess it has changed. understand a lot more sterile but also lots more expensive. never under preventive b/c of J-pouch even though don't know if something is wrong until scoped so ins. won't pay like for a colon. Thanks in advance for responses...

Some GIs will not do scopes with sedation in the office setting, so if you are wanting sedation, that may be your road block. If that is not an issue for you, you can let your doctor know that your copay is much higher for the hospital setting, he probably can arrange for something else, or refer you to someone who does clinic scopes.

We have to keep in mind that doctors are busy doing their work, and seldom concern themselves with all the insurance issues. If you don't tell them there is an issue, they don't know about it.

not b/c I want to be sedated. called surgeons office that did it for me yrs. ago. if person answering phone knows what she is talking about. said does it in hospital now.GI use to go to is retired. GI just saw either does at hospital/endocopy center. 2006 colon surgeon did it in her building/not sedated/lots....less cost. thanks for posting.
