Flagyl

I was prescribed Flagyl 500 mg, 3x a day for 14 days (total 1500 mg a day), along with 500 mg of Levaquin. This has essentially been my go to treatment for pouchitis for 20 years (I get it maybe once a year, sometimes less, sometimes more). One time I was given 500 mg Flagyl twice a day, but for 30 days, and it worked. Other times I've taken the Flagyl for 7 days or 10 days. Has anyone started a regimen of 500 mg Flagyl 3x a day, and then after a few days gone to 2x a day and finished the 10 or 14 day regimen that way? Thanks.
