It's official, I have another fistula, or the former repair failed. It is in the same area, so the surgeon thinks it is the same one and has re-opened. Can't do a Seton and this past week made it clear I can't just live with it without severe problems -- it is gushing several cups of liquid at a time! So they are going to try a porcine mesh repair again (slightly modified), with extra platelets. I'll be the first R/V fistula patient to try this on, although apparently they've had great success with perianal fistulas.

If this doesn't work the only thing left is a muscle flap repair. So I am really hoping for success.
I asked if I got a gold-plated bed or live entertainment or a rebate of some sort seeing as how this is my 10th surgery, but they didn't seem to think they could accommodate any of those!
