I have a history of a rectovag fistula which should have been covered up with my recent pouch advancement surgery. Lately, even before the takedown that I had, I started having some symptoms again (strangish discharge, feelings of occasional air bubbles, always feeling kind of wet down there). During my surgery (and obviously I spoke with my surgeon about all of this), he did the takedown and a thorough EUA. I was given the all clear. Is it possible though that he could have missed another possible fistula tract? These symptoms seemed to pick up again. Frowner
Thanks.

Would he consider a pelvic MRI? Why I say that is that I have a perianal fistula, and I had the MRI first, and the fistula was found that way... and even though he knew it was confirmed on MRI, when he did my first EUA to place the seton drain, he had a lot of trouble finding the internal fistula "hole." So... Had he only done an EUA, I'm sure he could have missed it, since the hole was super small. I'd ask about an MRI, if things don't get better.
