I have a fissure that starts at my anus and continues about an inch toward my spine. It is very painful at times. Has anyone else had this? How painful was it to repair? I dread asking asking my Doc about a fix. Please comment.

There are medications that can help resolve anal fissures (nitroglycerin, diltiazem, verapamil). Sitz baths can help. Keeping stool from getting too firm can help. Definitely ask your doctor.
If what you have is external then it wouldn’t be an anal fissure, but your doctor might still be able to help.
I know asking for a doctor's help can be dreading and I am sorry for that, sometimes life is not fair unfortunately. I would much rather you ask your doctor, I have faith you can find the strength to ask him for his help.
