Hope everyone is well. Finally, it's getting really close to my drop down surgery. I was wondering what you guys started eating the first week or two weeks after surgery to take it easy on the jpouch? Also in past conversations, I remember a few people mentioning metamucil to thicken up the stools: what was the ratio you mix per 8-12oz of water and how many glasses of that did you or do you drink per day? Thanks.

Metamucil didn't work well for me, but does for many on here. My husband made a turkey when I came home. I ate that, mashed potatoes, noodles, applesauce, eggs, toast with peanut butter. Best of luck and let us know how it goes!
I mix psyllium per the package directions (8 oz. water), and take it with breakfast and dinner. I’ve been doing that with good results for 19 years. I currently use 1/2 Konsyl and 1/2 Metamucil, but that’s mainly to reduce the sugar by half. I used just Metamucil for a long time. YMMV.
I love metamucil. It helps me soooo much. I take it before any major meal. Not so much for snacks. Every so often I don't take it for a day or 2 to clear everything out.
I took it real easy the first month post takedown....in addition to mashed potatoes noodles, peanut butter toast I also ate a lot of white rice....best of luck to you and remember to not rush into new foods....take it slow...(just as an example.....week 2 I had a big plate of spaghetti....the tomato sauce was not easy on my pouch and I paid dearly for that)... a few months later I was able to have red sauce but not in large portions.....keep us posted on your progress
I would not try slowing down your poop until you see how things go first. Take it easy. I was on a low residue diet for a while, and I was on low fibrous foods I believe. Drink lots of water and watch your hyrdration! Drink before, during and after every meal.
