I took it easy with food the first two weeks. I ate yogurt, scrambled eggs, toast, bagels, pasta, peanut butter, grilled chicken, mashed potato, ect. All boring low residue foods. After a couple of weeks I just felt confident that I could expand a little more. I remember craving a cheeseburger, fries and a milkshake so badly so I went to my favorite burger place. I had no issues at all eating that and that was about three weeks post op. Just try everything in small quantities at first. Smaller, frequent meals are better than huge ones. You kind of just get a feeling when you can become more adventurous.
I agree with Marianne! Keep it rather simple. If a particular food doesn't work for you at this stage, stop eating it for awhile but try it again in a few weeks. At first, for me, orange juice, was problematic. Later on.....no problem! Best wishes!
A word of caution on the orange juice, some people experience extra butt burn with acidic things like some juices and tomatoes..but hey I guess you can try everything for your self but I'd hold off on it for now. =P
I would avoid the OJ. Oranges cause me severe butt burn.
