I think you have everything all taken care of. When you start school just remember to get put in the special program for disabilities. Get a letter from gastro and say that you need extra bathroom breaks, you may be tardy sometimes, need extra hydration, and may need extra time on tests. Having that quality makes a big difference. I did school without it and it made my time in school a nightmare. Do not make the same mistake I did. Get enrolled in the disabilities program.

@Former Member I'll bet that was a nightmare!  I got setup with disability accomodations at my last school so I knew how to do that at this one.  I take tests in the testing center so they can stop the time when I need to get up and go and I'm allowed to miss things if it's due to a health issue.  I'm already halfway through this semester.  Thanks for the tip

Oh no problem!!! I am glad you know about that and do currently have it! I did not want to depend on that back then but I definitely wish I had of. I thought if I talked to all of my teachers that would be enough but it definitely was not. Some teachers are very non-emphatic. If I ever go back to school, I am definitely getting that next time lol. I just made a mistake back then lol.

I see you have everything all handled. I see you are doing perfect!!! When it comes to jobs definitely do the same thing. Sometimes its hard to find bosses that understand medical differences.

@Former Member what did you go to school for and how long did it take you??

I was going for the AA. I am halfway there currently, but I stopped going to school a few years ago. I am just taking time off because it was not making me happy. I was in it on and off because I got sick around those times. Everytime I went back something always happened lol, so I am just taking a break for a while.

What about you???

@Former Member Yeah I know that feeling! Every quarter/semester has hit me with something: hospitilization, surgery, etc.  Had to drop a couple quarters just cause I was so sick I couldn't do it.

The pandemic has actually helped in that regard though.  A lot of the classes are doing stuff online, and for the science classes with alternating virtual lab weeks where we don't have to go in.  You should think about returning if they keep doing classes this way, but you know what's best for you.

I'm halfway through my BS in Microbiology, and trying to transfer into the Nursing Program if I can next year.  Just playin it one step at a time.  I wanted to be a Gastroenterologist, but that career path is just too long with all the health issues on the side.

What would you do if you went back to finish?

Totally understand!!!! And wow cool! With a nursing degree, you can always work in gastro offices.

And I would probably do something with animals. Humans are too mean lol.
