Has anyone out there developed either condition? I had U.S in 1995 and a j-pouch that worked great until about 4 years ago. (I also had avn and bilateral hip replacements in 08 and 2012) In Sept 2012, I was admitted to the hospital for 18 days with a fistula and a microperf of my pouch. Did the Prometheus blood work that came back indeterminent. I was there for 19 days. The docs decided that it was time to try a biologic,so we started Remicade that day. Did o.k. Last month I had a CTscan and scope. My doc saw NOTHING! He said if he didn't know who was on the table, he'd think it was a healthy person. What's been happened over the last 3 or so months it tremendous pain in my feet and hands,especially in the mornings. After a bit of moving around, it eases. I've also been treated by a pain center for back pain. It feels like I have a pain belt around my waist. My GP thinks it's Lupus. I think it's fibro. Anyone have any information or experiences to share? Blood work to be done. Rheumetologists are hard to come by here.

I have fibromyalgia and from what you've described it doesn't sound like you have it. I'd suggest you look up the symptoms and have your doctor test you for lupus if s/he thinks you have it. GP's can treat fibromyalgia as well. There are no blood tests or whatever for fibro. Your doctor can test trigger points and go over your symptoms comparing them to fibromylgia symptoms to tell if you have it. Good Luck!

Please have her/him check for peripheral neuropathy too since it's in your hands and feet, I forgot to add that. Thyroid is a good one to check first as well.
Just another thought Have Mds discuss pains in back related to adhesions.Adhesions can do alot to us.
Also I dont know your age but have they looked at you for menopause.Menopause can have a great impact on a women's body.

My last blood work in April showed a normal thyroid.
I am 52 and I've ALWAYS believed that menopause has had something to do with all of this. The symptoms began at the same time. I've read about women who get pregnant and have their first flare or the other way around. Others have very serious recurrences while pregnant or just after the baby is born. Has anyone read anything about menopause affecting us? My doctor kind of blew it off, I don't think he knew what to say. I am CONVINCED there's a connection.

As far as Thyroid no such thing as normal.Obtain your lab reports and review them.
If your lab values are above 3 you should look into it more.Few weeks back my Gastro said oh your Thyroid labs look great .Sorry DR You Are wrong I am hypothyroid.according to the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist and the ATA. He looked at me. My Endo MD immediately upped my thyroid hormone with those same labs.
Menopause is a long slow process the body goes thru.It took years to get to puberty and now it takes a VERY long time to get thru menopause.
