I had my fistulectomy last Thursday but since then, I've been feeling off. Low internal body temp, aches, etc. but no fever. Just overall fatigue. The incision where they removed (split) the abscess open is still bleeding and raw but there doesn't appear to be any signs of infection though my lymph nodes in my groin are still a bit swollen.

Has anyone else experience anything like this. I was wondering if perhaps it's the flagyl. I'm taking 500mg three times daily. I stopped taking the hydrocodone a few days ago. With I could put my finger on this. Tomorrow I'm back on the job and I'm worn out.

i had to go back to temp ileo due to leak and infection in my spine. I am on cipro 750 mg twice a day, Flagyl 500mg three times a day and Diflucan 400mg once a day for a full month after hospital stay. i have a week to go and i feel really run down and tired, im sure its from all these antibiotics. One week to go and we will see how i feel off of them

Pouchomarx,

My fistulotomy was an anal abscess and fortunately there was not tract to my pouch. I can't imagine going through what you're going through. That's tough.

I just asked my surgeon to switch me off of flagyl and to ceftin, which I can tolerate much better.

I'm also feeling really fatigued. Just excessively tired. It's just odd because the incision was big but nothing like the J-Pouch surgeries I had and yet, I'm feeling run down, etc. Hopefully, it's the flagyl. I guess time will tell.

Good luck with your situation. That's a lot of antibiotics to be taking at once. Hope you're eating your VSL and yogurt!
