I had a temporary loop ileostomy during jpouch surgery roughly 7 weeks ago. I have had a rough recovery with lots of ups and downs, but starting to feel better with the use of probiotics, metamucil and dietary changes for output, but I am struggling hard with the constant feeling of having to poop. I know this is all part of the pouch healing, but is this normal? And is there anyway to manage the feeling until I finish my surgery in 6 months? I find it’s the only thing really bothering me right now and would love any input to help me get back to an even more normal lifestyle. Thank you!

Yeah that is normal, it takes for the body to adapt to a new change but it will adapt!!! That is the number thing that makes us different from trees! We can adapt to anything!!! Trees cannot.
Normal

Hello,
Unfortunately when you lose your colon frequent bathroom trips become your life.
Figuring out your diet, to see what will set you off regarding how many trips to the bathroom you will make. Majority of us take medication to slow our systems down so we’re not in the bathroom frequently.
it’s been 43yrs for me and I’m still figuring it out everyday.
Good luck, hope you figure it out
Do I understand it right that you still have a loop ileostomy now?
If you feel like having to poop, does something get out? (except a little bit of mucus?) An inflammation of the rectum cuff can cause such a feeling.
How is the butthole holding up?
